TRANSPORTATION

The Senior Center mini-buses are available through the cooperation of Housatonic Area regional Transit (HART). New Milford residents over age 60, or certified to be ADA (handicapped) eligible, may use the bus to travel within the Town of New Milford.

Our two mini-buses operate Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. The Fares are: $1.00 per one-way ride within the town center (south to Home Depot, north to Park Lane medical offices); $1.50 per ride beyond the town center. Bus Passes good for six months and are available for purchase in the office. There are 5 ride passes for $4.50 or 10 rides for $9.00. This represents a savings for our senior riders.

The drivers are not permitted to leave the bus unattended. If you can’t negotiate without assistance, a companion may accompany you at no extra cost.

Call the Senior Center at 355-6075 as early as two weeks before you need a ride, but no later than noon the day before you need the ride. The day before you use the bus, you will receive a call to confirm your pick-up time. Please note that if schools are closed due to inclement weather, the buses do not run. Please call if you are unsure.
