The section of Connecticut Route 7 which stretches between Lanesville Road to the south and Veterans Bridge to the north is rapidly becoming the hub of retail shopping in the region. Existing shopping centers include national and regional brand names such as Wal-Mart, Staples, TJ Maxx, Stop & Shop and BigY. Newly emerging lifestyle centers and shopping villages propose to offer names like Target, Ann Taylor Loft, Chico's and Coldwater Creek.
