PERMITS AND APPLICATIONS FOR APPROVAL
At the present time, the Town of New Milford does not utilize a centralized permitting system with one single point of entry. Each department empowered to grant approval for land use development or buliding construction/reconstruction has their own application. The Office of Economic Development, at the direction of Mayor Murphy, has undertaken an initiative to streamline this process and is working with the appropriate boards, commissions and their staff members to improve the customer service aspect of our various permit filing requirements.
Under the same initiative, the Mayor has created a Development Services Team to review business development plans (large and small) on an informal basis, prior to developers or business owners filing for permits or other approvals. (Read Press Release) Until such time as the team devises a single point of access for all permitting, anyone needing information or assistance with respect to permits or applications for land use approvals may contact the Economic Development Office for guidance.
