Public Meeting on Candlewood's Sterile Grass Carp Project
As we have stated previously, the Candlewood Lake Authority, with support of the 5 municipalities surrounding Candlewood Lake, applied for and was awarded a grant by the CT Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection to stock sterile triploid grass carp in Candlewood Lake this year, in an effort to provide further control over the eurasian watermilfoil which can be disruptive to boaters and swimmers on the Lake.
As part of the permitting process, the CT DEEP will conduct in informational meeting at 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Western Connecticut State University. All those interested in attending to learn more about this program are encouraged to do so.
