12/2/2014 - Donations to Tree of Warmth and Fuel Bank
For the past eleven years, the community has generously supported the Town Hall "Tree of Warmth" with donations of children's hats, gloves, mittens and scarves.  It is greatly appreciated and so very well received that we will once again continue the tradition of the Tree of Warmth.

The Holiday Tree that stands in the front entryway of Town Hall will be decorated with these donated items.  Each item will be neatly tied to the tree by the Mayor’s Office staff.  When winter takes hold during mid-January, we will have an abundance of new winter accessories for our community children that need them; all items will be distributed to local families through the New Milford Social Services Department.

Additionally, the Mayor's Office will also be collecting cash or check donations to the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford.  This assistance provides for emergency fuel delivery, or continued electric service to safely keep seniors and fixed/low-income families in our community warm during the cold winter months.  Checks can be made payable to the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford.

Your donations of children's winter accessories or contributions to the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford will be gratefully accepted in the Mayor’s Office between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday or you may call 860-355-6010 for further information.

Thank you to all who have contributed to these programs in the past; we appreciate your thoughtfulness and hope to have your continued support.
