Town of New Milford latest to join Connecticut Town Clerks Portal for Online Access to Town Records

New Milford Town Clerk, Noreen Prichard announced today that her office has joined the Connecticut Town Clerks Portal to allow the searching public 24/7 access to view and or print their town records.

The Town of New Milford has been working in partnership with Cott Systems, a privately owned software and service company serving town clerks for 123 years, to identify a low-cost solution to make public records more accessible to constituents via the internet.  Cott Systems developed a state portal to position town clerks to enhance the services their office provides by leveraging the investment they made in their records management solution (resolution3).

The state portal is implemented at no cost to the town clerk’s office.   Now, land records (i.e. deeds, liens, maps) index & images can be viewed via the internet.  If a searcher needs to print an image, they can now do so via the internet for $1.00 per page, as defined by the state of Connecticut (if this is mandated by the state). The per-page print fee is a convenience charge which is kept by the town, becoming a revenue stream for the town budget.

“Cott is about serving our customers and their customers alike.  This idea was born from the thoughts of a customer and has been executed by Cott working in partnership with them.  We are honored to be a part of Connecticut’s cutting-edge way of thinking and position our customer to enhance the solution offerings they provide their town” explains Cott Systems.
