New Milford Economic Development

New Milford is poised for transformative growth and welcomes businesses large and small to make us your new home.

Mayor Pete Bass, a former New Milford small business owner, has provided the vision for creating business opportunities and streamlining processes that make New Milford the preferred new business location in Litchfield County.  Things to consider:

  • New Milford boasts seven different commercial and industrial zones totaling just over 3,000 acres, nestled in the quintessential New England Village and countryside.

  • The fastest path to an approval is to attend a bi-monthly Development Services Team Meeting. Contact Karen Pollard at  for an appointment with the Team.

  • We are redesigning Tax incentive programs.  If you bring your business and create jobs in New Milford, we have incentives for you.

  • Our Economic Development Corporation, chaired by veteran economic development director Oley (Alexander) Carpp, can help you obtain financing.

So give us a call – we’d love to help you and your business find a home in New Milford.  (860)-355-5001

CT Economic Disaster Declaration

The Governor of CT is asking economic developers to gather data from all CT business regarding the economic disaster associated with the national pandemic of COVID-19.
Please know that financial help is going to become available through the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Please share this with ANY business owners or entities, and please have them return completed forms to either or ASAP.
The forms can also be dropped off at the Mayor's office in Town Hall, 10 Main Street, New Milford. We understand that the economic impacts are just beginning to be felt,
but that completing this form will identify business needs for financial assistance early in the process.
