FAIR RENT COMMISSION

The Town of New Milford’s Fair Rent Commission was enacted by the New Milford Town Council in
June of 2023, Code of Ordinances Chapter 9 Article II adopted June 26, 2023.
It was established to control and eliminate excessive rental charges on residential housing within the Town.

The primary power of the Fair Rent Commission is in determining whether or not the rent for the housing
accommodation is so excessive as to be harsh and unconscionable.
