Entitlement Programs

CT Department of Social Services (CT DSS) applications for SNAP (food stamps), cash assistance, and Husky C are available online through CT DSS.   [SNAP- How to Apply]

Online applications at Connect.CT:  www.connect.ct.gov

To correspond with CT DSS by mail:  DSS ConneCT Scanning Center, PO Box 1320, Manchester, CT 06045-1320 

The closest regional office is at 342 Main Street, Danbury, CT.  They have limited walk-in hours. 

New Milford Social Services may provide assistance with the preparation of applications on a case by case basis, however we are unable to communicate directly with the CT DSS system, since we are only a Town social service agency

DSS Renewal Benefits can NOW be done online!  Enrollees can renew their benefits or report changes and upload supporting verifications and documents.  You will need to be a registered MyAccount user to proceed.

ConneCT, www.connect.ct.gov ,is the Connecticut Department of Social Services' customer service website that allows DSS clients online access to their account, helps state residents determine if they may be eligible for benefits, and apply online.

Features include:
                         1. MyAccount allows clients to set up an online account to check the status of their benefits. Data is stored securely and can be easily accessed by computer or smartphone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  You can also use your MyAccount to renew your benefits, makes changes and upload verifications/documents to DSS.

                          2.Am I Eligible is a confidential and anonymous interactive pre-screening tool that allows visitors to see if they may be eligible for DSS services.

End Hunger CT (EHC) provides an opportunity to  apply for SNAP by phone at 1-866-974-SNAP(7627) or online at www.endhungerct.org/resources/snap.   EHC! SNAP call center is available until 9pm Monday-Friday, and weekends 11am-5pm.  Clients calling after hours may leave a message; it will be received immediately and returned shortly by an outreach associate. The number is 866-974-SNAP.
